I grew up during the time of doodle art - remember those? You got a pack of felt markers and elaborate black line drawings on a number of themes. I would spend hours coloring these in! Little did I know then that coloring pages were a benefit to my well-being.
The complexity. Determine your child's level when it comes to coloring. Some color books provide large coloring spaces making it easier for children to color the page, stay in the lines, etc. As the child gets older, their skill level for coloring increases as well, and the difficulty of the book may as well. Some coloring books come with written instructions, and other games, such as a dot to dot, or a maze. If you want to keep your child happy, and still challenge them, choose coloring or activity books in their range or level, and do not frustrate them with books that have too small of pictures, or too many spaces to color, or written instructions.
The thing that I love most about colouring pages is that it allows me the opportunity to share a small aspect of my past with my children. Although they find it comical that some of the coloring page characters such as the care bears, tinkerbell, and strawberry shortcake were around when I was a child.

You could try to look for categories, like Disney Characters, Princesses, Barbie or alphabets. The kind of coloring books that your child prefers. With such, there is an endless selection in which you could choose from.
